Who is responsible for your information
The Data Safe is responsible for the personal information submitted through this website. Questions, requests and privacy concerns can be sent to hello@thedatasafe.co.uk.
Information we collect
We collect information you choose to provide in the recoverability assessment or contact form, which may include:
- your name, work email, telephone number and job title;
- your organisation, sector, location and website;
- information about your recovery environment, priorities and requirements;
- your contact preferences and optional marketing choice; and
- technical information recorded by our hosting and security services, such as request time, browser type and IP address.
Do not submit passwords, access credentials, special-category personal data or sensitive incident evidence through these forms.
Why we use it
We use this information to:
- produce the directional recovery report you request;
- respond to enquiries and prepare for a requested conversation;
- route an enquiry to the appropriate person;
- protect the website from abuse and investigate service problems; and
- send relevant service updates when you have chosen to receive them.
We rely on steps you ask us to take before a possible contract and our legitimate interests in responding to business enquiries and securing the service. We rely on consent for optional marketing, which you may withdraw at any time.
Who receives it
Information is available only to people who need it to handle the enquiry and to service providers supporting website hosting, security and lead delivery. We may also disclose information when required by law or when necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal claims. We do not sell personal information.
If a service provider processes information outside the United Kingdom, we will require an appropriate transfer safeguard and proportionate security measures.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry and assessment information only while it is needed to respond, manage the resulting business relationship, resolve disputes and meet legal or regulatory obligations. Marketing preferences are kept until you withdraw consent or the information is no longer useful. Security logs are retained according to the hosting provider's operational security schedule. Information is then deleted or anonymised.
Your choices and rights
Depending on the circumstances, you can ask for access to your information, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or object to how it is used. You can withdraw marketing consent at any time without affecting earlier processing.
Contact us first so we can help. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
Automated assessment
The recoverability assessment uses four answers to produce an automated, directional report. It does not make a legal, contractual or similarly significant decision about you, and its findings should be checked against your actual environment.
